Guttersnipe Theatre was created by Grace and Molly as a response to the lack of dynamic young femxle characters for us to play with. So we brought onboard Lucy and Lorna to create new ones who reflected ourselves and the womxn we knew.
Grace went to study at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris while Lucy studied at London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Working across London, Paris and Brighton we began to incorporate new genres and practices into our work.
We created our debut show, Moonface, a fusion of naturalism and physical theatre. We previewed it at Park Theatre before taking it to Edinburgh Fringe 2016 where it received a fantastic critical reception.
2017 - 18
We were Associate Artists at New River Studios, where we developed and produced Freddie Van der Velde’s one-woman play Trip alongside creating our absurd comedy show BITS. Trip was long-listed for the Theatre503 Playwriting Award and won the One Act Festival 2018 bursary prize at Stockwell Playhouse.
We performed Trip at Katzpace and Brighton Fringe 2019. We began developing our current project SHUGA FIXX vs The Illuminati, a dark comedy about a teenage girl band who take on the satanic inner circle, with writer and performer Poppy Pedder.
SHUGA FIXX received funding from Arts Council England for a research and development period and performances at Camden People’s Theatre and Pleasance London.
